Grey Ghost Bicycles NICA NY Team

The Grey Ghost Bicycles team welcomes riders in grades 6-12 from the Glens Falls area to ride with the team. The team rides and races in the New York High School Cycling League (www.newyorkmtb.org), which is part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). Our team philosophy is fun first and our central goal is for students to develop a strong body, mind and character through mountain biking. There are no tryouts. Everyone rides no matter his/her ability and skill level. Racing is optional and not required to join the team.

Grey Ghost Bicycles competes in cross-country style racing, based on National Interscholastic Cycling League standards (www.nationalmtb.org), starting in the Spring.

Race day #2 is fast approaching. If you are looking to race this weekend make sure you get registered by Wednesday at Midnight! The race will be held at Lipman Park in Wawarsing. It’s an easy drive, just a little over two hours from the Saratoga/Glens Falls area. The trails are similar to what you find in Gurney Lane, so it’s a great race for anyone looking to try a race. There will be no race day registration, so make sure you get signed up by Wednesday at Midnight. All registration is done on the PitZone.

If you plan on racing this season, there is a team jersey that can be purchased up at the Grey Ghost Glens Falls location.

Wednesday night we will be at Gurney Lane @ 6pm. Meet in the field by the pond. Practice will last until around 7:45pm.

WINTER RIDING SCHEDULE:

Glens Falls:

Saturday Morning Workout: 8am at the shop, bring your bike and trainer a join us for a high intensity workout. Normally an hour and a half.

Thursday Night Movie Night: 6pm at the shop, bring your bike and trainer and join us for a casual spin and a movie. We pick a different movie each week, sometimes a classic, sometimes a new movie!

SUMMER RIDE SCHEDULE:

Glens Falls:

*Weather Permitting*

Saturday Morning-8am High intensity road ride alternating between the Gansevoort Loop (32 mi) and the Kingsbury Loop (29 mi).

Thursday Adventure Ride- 6pm from the shop, This ride is made to take you out of your comfort zone. The routes will alternate each week and range from 2-3 hrs. Most weeks we will have an "A" and "B" group. Routes will be posted on Facebook and our website.

Tuesday Night Mountain bike- 6:00 pm, From The Shop, or 6:30 at Gurney Lane. Every even Tuesday we will meet at Gurney Lane at 6:30 pm. Every Odd we meet at the shop at 6 pm.
