To keep NICA riders, coaches, volunteers and parents safe, we are going with a two day event schedule in order to keep our group numbers low and in compliance with town rules. All races are two days with the exception of Race Five, The Windham Championship Race on June 6th.
Registration: No race day registration will be offered this Spring. Please be sure to sign up for races in advance. All categories have 65 open slots each. Registration will close Wednesday at midnight before each race with the exception of Race One. Registration for Race One will close on Tuesday April 13 at midnight.
All riders registered must check in on race weekend at the very cool NICA NY Registration tent. Ellen will be happy to give you the thumbs up to send it, once we see you are race ready!
Saturday: Middle School Races and Pre-Ride. Shred The Woods!
Sunday: High School Races and Pre-Ride. Let The Good Times Roll!
Teams will sign-up, first-come, first-serve for pre-ride times via a shared Google Doc.
Pre-Ride: Teams will have one lap to study the course. Please keep in mind other teams will be going out every 20 minutes, so please keep moving to keep the course clear.
Only Middle School will pre-ride the course Saturday morning.
Only High School will pre-ride the course Sunday morning.
Categories: All categories will be limited to 65 riders.
Please sign up for races soon to be sure you get a spot!
Middle School 6-8.
High School 9-12.
Race Format: This years race format will be similar to that of a cyclocross race format. Riders will be set up in the start zone and begin as normal, after the first lap is complete, the amount of laps will be determined based on time. Once the winner crosses the finish line, every rider who crosses the finish line after is done (even if they have been lapped.)
Example: Race leaders do first lap in 15 min and are slotted for a 45 min race, Lead riders will do 3 laps, everyone finishes after winner finishes their third lap. (Even if they have only finished 2)
This format allows us to get all riders off the course in a timely manner so we can get the next group out there.
Race Categories Format: Each category will race together one category at a time. No other category will be on the course at that time, racing or pre riding.
Awards: We will be awarding the top 5 riders from each category at each race.
Top 5 overall awards to teams and riders will be given this year!! Go get some!!
Middle School & High School Race Stat Times: Please Check Our Race Day Flyer.
